Lunchtime at St John's C of E Primary

The lunchtime experience is seen as important as any other part of the school day. Our Christian values are at the heart of all we do to serve our children, and it is very important that we continue to ‘break bread’ with one another. We believe that it is important that all our children eat a hot, nutritious meal together every day. However, children have the option to bring a packed lunch from home, as long as the packed lunch follows the rules within the Lunch Policy.

All lunches must be ordered one week in advance by our families in advance via Arbor. This includes packed lunch and children who receive free school meals.  By ordering in advance, children have the option to swap between school meals and packed lunches and help our catering partner, Coombs, make sure that there is enough food for the children each day.

We are unable to accommodate orders for school lunches requested on the day. Any families who have not placed orders by the weekly deadline will be required to provide a packed lunch from home.

Please remember that we are a nut, sesame and poppy seed free school. It is essential to promote healthy eating and keep all of our children safe.

We are delighted to work with Coombs Catering and our in-house chef and catering team. On this page you can find our current three-weekly menu. Your children are able to independently choose their meals every morning.

In Reception, Years 1 and Year 2 meals are provided free of charge, funded by the Government.

In KS2 (Years 3 to 6), meals are provided at a cost of £2.98 per meal per day.
